Christmas Gift Guide 2017

Thank you for taking the time to check out my Christmas gift guide. This guide is designed for mums and dads alike.

I created this list with you in mind. I know how hard it can be to buy your little ones and partners gifts for Christmas so this guide will give you a few ideas.

Men have a bad reputation for buying gifts and they always seem to leave getting Christmas presents until the last-minute.

Remember this is just a guide and might not work for your family as interests differ.

Fellow dads please let’s try to buy our gifts before Christmas this year.

Jelly Sweet Maker:

From Giles and Posner.

I’m not sure about you or your children but if like me they love their sweets then this would make an amazing gift. Not only do you get to eat sweets but you get the chance to make your own.

This sweet maker doesn’t come with any of the ingredients you need but it does contain the recipe to make a few different flavors. The little center pot that you create your magical sweet mixture can hold enough to create the full capacity of 32 sweets that the molds are capable of making.

The sweets set quickly and easily in the silicone molds and they’re super easy to clean. It even comes with a pack of 20 sweet bags!

The Jelly Sweet maker is Available here for £19.55.

Meditations in the heart:

Do you struggle to get your little to sleep? Have you tried everything you can think of? This book is designed to help get your child to sleep quickly as well as teaching them about self-love. This is all done through meditation.

This book is great for toddlers and will help them to feel loved which could help them in later life by reducing confidence and self-esteem issues.

My daughter lived this book but be warned it could also help you to fall asleep.

Now available in the UK “The Children’s Meditations In my Heart” is available from www.amazon.co.uk priced £14.95 for a hard copy, £4.97 for a kindle copy, and £5.09 for a pdf download from roomforreflection

Microwaveable Minion Stuart:

Say “Bello!” to Stuart.

With a Minion different possibilities this Christmas it’s easy to just buy some random things but I feel this soft toy will really keep the little ones happy.

It’s a Lavender scented Minion. What’s more, you can place him in the microwave for up to 2 minutes (Please follow instructions) to transform him into a warm comforter. Perfect for these cold nights. Who wants to mess around with a hot water bottle when you have this.

Stuart is great as a friend, toy and someone to hold your child’s hand as the lavender fragrance helps send them to sleep.

Available here for £19.95.

DC Superhero Jelly Belly Jelly Beans:

Do you know a sweet lover or have your kids been especially good on the run up to Christmas? If the answer is yes then check out these bad boys. They are a sweet lovers dream. What makes them even more amazing is they feature the image of one of three DC Comic Super Heros.

I have given these shimmering jelly beans a good taste and the flavours not only explode in your mouth but they are very close to the real thing. They actually taste like the fruits they’re meant to.

I received a 60g bag which is great for a treat. Don’t expect me to share them, I ate them all within 5 minutes. Ooops.

Colour changing bubble bath:

This bubble bath is great fun, well for me at least. I know, I know it’s the kids that are meant to find it fun. Trust me Sophia loves it and I think it’s quite magical too.

This would make a great gift for any aspiring mermaid or merman for that matter. You could always surprise your partner with this bubble bath!

All you need to do is pour it in like any other bubble bath and watch as the water changes colour instantly.

Shark Bite The Game:

This is a great game by Drumond park. It’s a game where you need to carefully fish out the food stuck in the shark’s mouth without it jumping up and trying to bite you!

This angry-looking shark is full of fun and is great to play over and over and over again. Sophia had us playing together for at least an hour and she asks to play it most days. I was even using it to try and teach her simple maths. It’s amazing where you can find inspiration.

This game is for children aged 4 and over. It’s 2-4 players. What I love most about this game is you don’t have to use it the way it’s described and you can use it as a swimming shark trying to gather the food that you’ve hidden around the room. My daughter loved doing that!

Fox Wine And Black Knitted Hat:

Get your child dressed for the winter with this fashionable, warm, soft and fun hat. This wooly hat comes in a fox design and would look great on most children. Not only will you think they look adorable in it, they will fall in love with it to. The lining inside helps to keep the heat in and the harsh winter winds out.

Prepare to have yourself a fashionable fox this Christmas and show off the festive spirit in your local park.

Available here for £24.00.

Paint Your Own Bird Feeder:

When I first got this I didn’t think Sophia would get on with it as she’s only 3. She did what she does best and proved me wrong. Not only did she excel in the skill needed to paint it, she really enjoyed herself to. I literally has to pull her off of it.

It comes as a pre-built bird feeder basically ready to use as it is. Combine that with the brush and paints that are also supplied and throw a toddler into the mix and you have yourself some quiet time to relax. Grab a coffee or a glass of wine while you watch them create their very own mater-piece.

Once they have finished all you need to do is wait for it to dry then hang it up. We don’t have any trees in out garden so I thought outside the box and hung it outside her bedroom window from the over-flow pipes.

This is a fun way of sparking your childs creativity and seeing how they are developing.

Available here for £14.99.

Paint Sticks:

As you know, most if not all kids love to paint. It’s a great way for them to be creative and develop fine motor skills at the same time. Some times I hate it when Sophia paints because it can be quite messy. I don’t like cleaning up the mess that comes with getting the paints out.

With paint sticks you get all the fun of painting with none of the mess! The paints dry in 60 seconds and unless your child decides to paint on something they shouldn’t then there is no need to clean up after. I think this is a win win for parents everywhere.

If this sounds like something both you and your child will enjoy then please have a look at the link below:

2 In 1 Popcorn and Crepe Maker:

American Originals brings us this multi functional kitchen accessory. Featuring a non stick hot plate this machine can create both popcorn and crepes (not at the same time though, that would be weird).

I don’t pretend to be a dab hand in the kitchen but I do love crepes! This has made it easy for me to enjoy them as a desert or breakfast whenever the mood strikes.

It’s easy to clean and simple to use. All you need to do is add the ingredients and your away! Popcorn for

Who’s The Dude The Game:

Drumond park brings us a great game for you and your friends for when the kids have gone to bed. This game is strictly 16+ no-one under 16 should play this game.

Basically it’s the commonly known game charades but with a twist. instead of performing the well-known film, book, tv show ect you perform different actions with the ‘Dude’ a full size inflatable man!

Don’t get the wrong idea ladies, this isn’t that kind of inflatable! He is a sport fanatic as you can tell from the head band ?

This game is huge amounts of fun and can be quickly set up and taken down when you want to play.

Have a laugh this Christmas and play ‘Who’s the Dude?’

Wonderbag:

Right, You might be thinking why is there a picture of a bean bag. It isn’t a bean bag, it’s the Wonder bag!

This is a non-electric heat-retention cooker. It carries on cooking after you have taken it of the stove!

What you need to do is bring the food to the correct cooking temperature using conventional methods like boiling ect. Then you take the pot or pan and place it inside the bag. The insulated bag will keep the food hot for up to 12 hrs and will continue to cook slowly.

This makes it a super eco-friendly tool for those savvy mums and dads out there. This is great for keeping food hot or cold while you go on day trips or on picnics.

Definitely worth a look.

Available here for £45.00

Vail Black Knitted Hat:

Winter is coming and that means that it’s getting colder. Why not treat your loved one to a trendy knitted hat this Christmas?

What says ‘I love you’ more than looking after them by making sure there head stays warm. This knitted hat from ‘Buff’ definitely does keep you warm and it looks great too. If you don’t like the design still have a look at their site as they have literally hundreds of different hats to choose from. You are bound to find one you like.

Star wars fountain pen and calligraphy set:

From Sheaffer.com

The R2-D2 fountain pen is a great tool for any pen lover. I have a strange obsession when it comes to stationary, I don’t know what it is exactly or why but I get excited whenever I see stationary in shops and love to have a little horde of pens.

This is definitely in my collection. The pen is more like an extension of your hand and flows really well. Any stationary nut or star wars fan would love to get this, this christmas.

Available here for $22.99.

The Calligraphy set is by far one of the most enjoyable I have found on the market. It is reasonably priced and comes with 20 cartridges for all your calligraphy needs. These are great for creating invitations, cards and just for day-to-day use. They are robust and with the 3 different size nibs and pens you will always be able to a bit of fancy writing on the fly.

I am still learing the art of calligraphy but I will post pictures on my social media as I improve.

Available here for $35.00.

Theye Beach Towel:

This towel from Theye is one of the strangest towels I have ever used. Don’t get me wrong the towel is brilliant! I don’t know how they have managed to create such a thin towel that can be used as a gym towel, beach towel or even a bath towel! The water just gets sucked straight in!

When I first felt it I thought ‘Yeah this towel ain’t up to much’ then when I used it after a shower, I was dry within a minute. What’s even more amazing is that the towel itself dries super fast.

I just know that any gym goer will be grateful to receive this for Christmas.

Available here for £10.00.
