A little while ago I wrote an article about how hard it can be to find or trust a nursery (Read it here). This is the follow-up to that, We have finally found one.
We went for a walk around the newly found nursery that’s a 10 min drive away (The waiting lists were crazy at all the nearby ones). We got stuck in traffic on the way and ended up being 10 mins late for our appointment. However the person we were meeting still took their time and went through everything with us.
As soon as we walked in Sophia ran off into one of the rooms and started to play with the other kids. This was quite an emotional event because it sort of cemented in the fact that we needed to do this earlier. It made be feel like a bad dad for not doing more to get her into a nursery before.
All the staff we encountered came across very friendly and helpful which made us feel more relaxed and happy about the fact we will be sending Sophia there. The building itself is huge! They have two gardens on two separate levels which blew my mind but we do live in the hills after all. The person who owns the nursery has done for 32 years so they must be doing something right.
During the tour they explained how they help prepare the children for school and let us know we need to apply for a school soon. It’s all happening so fast. Sophia has grown up quick!
Long story short as of September Sophia will be attending nursery giving us more time to prepare for our baby and giving Sophia the much-needed social skills she has missed out on. You never know Jen and I might even manage to squeeze in a date or two ?
What are your experiences of nursery? Do you have any funny stories? Comment and let me know.
