The other day I received a parcel. To my surprise it included a sample of Ecover washing detergent for a challenge I applied for through Britmums. The challenge was to try it out and let you know how I found it.
This actually came in very handy and came at the right time because we were running low on washing powder.
If you’re anything like me then you will have at least three weeks worth of washing to do. I just can’t seem to keep on top of it. Anyway I pulled my finger out and decided to try out this new washing liquid.
This Non-Bio concentrated Laundry detergent is kind to sensitive skin (Great for babies and bedding alike) Also it’s tough on stains. Most Non-Bio’s I have used performed poorly when it came to removing stains.
The plant-based formula makes it a ‘Green’ alternative to the more commonly known detergents. The Ingredients are bio degradable and the bottle is recyclable the only thing that needs checking is the cap. Ecover are very committed to lowering their carbon footprint and making the environment a better place.
Here is how I got on with it:
Upon opening the cap the strong aroma of Lavender and Sandalwood hit me. The smell was amazing and I knew I would get on well with it. I measured some out and thought it looked a little more like an oil than a detergent. I loaded the washing machine and poured in the required amount. The machine started to fill with water and when the detergent mixed with the warm water the house filled with the beautiful smell. I can still smell it now and I have some washing in the next room hanging up to dry.
This would be great for bedding and pyjamas for those people who struggle to sleep. The natural smell of the lavender will help them drift off into a peaceful slumber. Who doesn’t like sliding into a bed with fresh bedding? It’s heaven!
85% of mumsnet users would buy again. This just goes to show it’s a diverse detergent that suits the whole family as well as helps the planet, one wash at a time.
Overall I would say this washing liquid has won its way into my heart and my laundry routine. I am now almost up to date with my washing and will be keeping up to date with it from now on. Thank you Ecover for giving me a kick up the bum.
